LoA Signed with three District Development Committees
Even community infrastructures built by LRP symbolise peace and aim to promote social cohesion. In proportion to the total number of people affected, more pople are killed by diasters in Nepal compared to any other country in South Asia. The topography of Nepal also makes it more vulnerable to natural disasters. The resources that LRP has been using into the construction of new ones and repairment of of conflict and flood-affected infrastructures have served as a bedrock of hazard reduction, not to speak of how much they have supported to the creation of short-term employment and income generation.
MAHOTTARI
The partnership agreement with District Development Committee of Mahottari is to get 49 community infrastructures constructed/rehabilitated to benefit 2555 Households and create 13050 person-days short term employment in the year 2011.
The responsibility on the part of DDC Mahottari includes site surveys and preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) as per LRP's template, support the formation and capacity building activities of User Committees and supervise and monitor the infrastructures. The DDC will does the management of fund delivery and ensure linkage and coordination with User Committees, Peace and Livelihood Facilitators(PALs), social mobilisation NGO for LRP various national and international organisations to ensure the sustainability of infrastructures.
Among the community infrastructures 11 will of small size in the first cluster VDCs and 38 will be of normal size in the second cluster VDCs which include drinking water projects, rural electrification, micro-irrigation, community buildings, disastter mitigation measures, schools, health post, market shed, collection center for agriculture products, river training work, culverts and trail improvement. All the community infrastructures are decided by the community members by holding a participatory discussion and reaching consensus on what is the most prioritized project.   
UNDP LRP is providing support worth Nrs 23. 906 million rupees for the total cost of projects and all operational costs.
DDC Chair of Mahottari, Rajendra Dev Pandey and NPM of UNDP/LRP Prem Kant Jha signed the agreement to this end recently.
SARLAHI
The agreement with District Development Committee of Sarlahi is to complete the construction/ rehabilitation of 42 community infrastructures in 2011. Among 42 community infrastructure projects 8 will be of small size and 34 will be of normal size. The successful completion of these projects will directly benefit 2240 households and create short-term employment of 11,400 person-days in 2011.   
The responsibility on the part of DDC Sarlahi is similar to  that of Mahottari and Rautahat where it will do the site surveys and preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) as per LRP's template, support the formation and capacity building activities of User Committees and supervise and monitor the infrastructures. The DDC will does the management of fund delivery and ensure linkage and coordination with User Committees, Peace and Livelihood Facilitators(PALs), social mobilisation NGO for LRP various national and international organisations to ensure the sustainability of infrastructures.
The total support provided to Sarlahi DDC for this year is 20.833 million rupees.
RAUTAHAT
The District Development Committee of Rautahat has agreed to complete the construction and rehabilitation of 46 community infrastructures in the project implementing VDCs in 2011. The community infrastructures include drinking water, rural electrification, micro-irrigation, community building, diaster mitigation measures, schools and health posts. Similarly market shed, collection centers for agriculture products, river training works, culvert, street/trail improvment and others identified and prioritized for communities will be some other highlty prioritized infrastructure projects for this year.  At least the completion of 46 infrastruture projects are expected to benefit 1605 households and create short-term employment of 8850 days.

DDC Rautahat shall do site surveys and prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) as per LRP's template, support the formation and capacity building activities of User Committees and supervise and monitor the infrastructures. The DDC will does the management of fund delivery and ensure linkage and coordination with User Committees, Peace and Livelihood Facilitators(PALs), social mobilisation NGO for LRP various national and international organisations to ensure the sustainability of infrastructures.
LRP has agreed to provide  16.72 million rupees as programme cost for 46 projects as well as operational const and institutional support to the government partner.
An agreement to this effect was signed recently between DDC Chair of Rautahat, Bishnu Prasad Lamichhane and National Project Manager of LRP, Prem Kant Jha.
